Periodontal Disease

Periodontal disease is a chronic inflammatory disease that has bacterial plaque as its primary cause. As the bacterial plaque spreads into a small crevice between the gum and tooth called a periodontal pocket depth, it begins to cause the underlying bone to wear away. This results in the loss of attachment in the gum and bone from the tooth. As the attachment loss process progresses, teeth can become mobile. Considering that periodontal disease has been associated with multiple systemic diseases and conditions, it is essential that adequate periodontal care is sought after. The goal of treatment is to eliminate periodontal pockets and to bring back long term oral health and function.

Dental Implants

Dental implants have become the best way to replace teeth. They have clearly been changing the way people live. They are designed to provide a foundation for replacement teeth that look, feel, and function like natural teeth. Dental Implants can replace a single tooth, they can replace multiple teeth, or a full arch of teeth. With a full arch of teeth, there is also an implant procedure called TEETH-IN-AN-HOUR™ that can replace and restore teeth in a single short visit. The end results is that a person who has lost teeth regains the ability to eat virtually anything and can smile with confidence.

Cosmetic Periodontal Treatment

Cosmetic periodontal treatment is geared towards making sure that patients walk away with a beautiful smile. In concert with the general dentist, Dr. Leybovich will perform a thorough evaluation of the teeth and gums, taking into account the tooth size and shape, and gum height and thickness. If patients present with gum recession having long teeth or inadequate gum tissue, gum grafting procedures can be performed. If patients present with short teeth with too much gum tissue, crown lengthening procedures can be performed to expose more of the natural tooth. The final outcome is an even gum line with tooth size and shape that is in harmony creating a natural beautiful appearance.
